Asylum seeker hub

The Asylum Seeker Hub is a space that runs every week to provide an easy access point for people seeking refuge to receive information and services from a wide range of agencies related to their legal, psychological, welfare and social needs. We partner with the lead agencies in Perth who are working with Asylum Seekers.

In partnership with a pro bono legal service in Perth, we also host a free visa administration clinic. By working with bilingual volunteers from the community, a person in need of assistance can get the practical help they need to get their paperwork completed.

In the last year, we have been able to assist 525 people through The Asylum Seeker Hub. We have been privileged to have 216 individual client appointments for immigration and legal assistance.

the Bible Society: Noongar translation

Bible Society Australia is committed to helping Indigenous Australian’s Open The Bible in their heart languages. Bible Society is supporting the Noongar people in the south-west of Western Australia translate the Bible into their language.

Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is an Australian Government initiative which aims to support elderly people in aged care facilities who may be lonely and at risk of social isolation.

Riverview Community Services provides visitors for residents whose quality of life is enriched by friendship and companionship. In the last year, we have been able to make 1560 visits to 24 residential aged care facilities.

We are always looking for volunteers who would enjoy building a one-to-one relationship with a resident, making a commitment to visit the person regularly for one hour per fortnight.
